Quality Oysters

Our delicious WBS Oysters develop their unique and exciting flavour from their excellent growing conditions in the “A” class waters of Woodstown Bay. Our oysters receive first rate care from turning, to cleaning, to low density beds, therefore allowing for maximum nourishment and exposure to the plankton rich waters. The result is fleshy, corpulent oysters exclusive to our farm.

Our certified sustainable oysters recently won two gold stars at the Guild of Fine Foods “Great Taste” awards in London.

Oysters are perhaps the most nutritious food on the planet. Adding oysters to your diet offers a surprising number of health benefits, including a wealth of vitamins, minerals, and essential omega-3 fatty acids. Oysters are a low energy density food, meaning that there are few calories in a single serving, but yet this doesn’t compromise their incredible nutritional value.

Oysters are rich in :

  • Potassium – essential for the maintenance of the heart, brain, kidneys and muscle tissues.
  • Magnesium – required by all major organs for correct functioning.
  • Zinc – a necessary component in immune response and brain functioning. Recommended daily allowance is anywhere between 8 to 11 mg of Zinc. A single serving of raw oysters offers 17mg of Zinc.
  • Selenium – for regulating thyroid hormones and possibly preventing cancers and arthritis. The recommended daily allowance is 22 to 27 mcg. One raw oyster contains 2.9mcg.
  • Vitamin B12 – essential for the proper functioning of nerve fibres, a 100 gram serving of raw oysters exceeds the required daily B-12 intake.
